Walk-in sexual health clinic launches for young people in Warrington

Based on Bath Street Health and Wellbeing Centre, Axess 4 U provides safe, non-judgemental health care for people aged 19 and under

A NEW walk-in sexual health clinic has launched for young people living in Warrington.

Based on Bath Street Health and Wellbeing Centre, Axess 4 U provides safe, non-judgemental health care for people aged 19 and under.

It offers contraception (including implants and emergency contraception), screening and treatment for sexually transmitted infections, free condoms, and pregnancy testing.

No appointments are necessary and young people can also use the clinic to access sexual health guidance, advice, and information.

Luke Byrne, assistant divisional director of nursing, sexual health & HIV at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, which runs Axess Sexual Health, said: “Young people are often nervous about accessing healthcare, especially for their sexual health.

“We want young people to know that Axess 4 U clinics offer a safe, confidential environment where they will be warmly welcomed and treated with care and respect.”

“We are committed to service users playing a part in shaping our services and we are planning more opportunities for young people to get involved and improve local sexual health services later this year.”

Axess Sexual Health Education and Outreach teams also work in the community, providing training and education to young people to help them understand sexual health and safe sex practices, so they can have healthy relationships.
